Gesellschaft für Produktionssysteme GmbH (GPS) was founded in 1999 by the Fraunhofer Institute of Manufacturing and Automation. GPS currently consists of two business fields: Project Management and Technology Transfer and Robotic Systems.
The business field Project Management and Technology Transfer is a service provider working in the management of research and development projects. It focuses its competence on supporting R&D projects in the field of information and automation technology. This support covers all project phases, from the provision of advice in the run-up, to the content-related planning and initiation of the project, the project management itself, and also giving advice and support on how to exploit the results.

As a sub-contractor for Fraunhofer IPA, GPS manages the project and provides the assistant project manager in the shape of Prof. Erwin Prassler.
